Old Picture of Keith
I'm a senior lecturer in Electrical,
Electronic and Computer Engineering in the School
of Engineering and Physical Sciences at Heriot-Watt
University. Where I am the Director of
the Graduate School in the School of Engineering and
Physical Sciences.
My research interests are
Intelligent Systems, Fault Diagnostics & Prognostics, Signal Processing and
Autonomous for Underwater Systems. I am part of the Edinburgh
Research Partnership,
Joint Research
Institute for Signal & Image Processing. Much of the work I do
is as part of the
Ocean Systems
Laboratory.
Research Interests
My research interests are in Intelligent Systems and Signal
Processing. I am involved in supervising research students
investigating:
- Novel Processing Techniques for Aircraft Wiring Fault Detection
and Diagnosis
- Intelligent Sensors Systems for Mobile Robots
- Planning for Collaborative AUV Operations
In addition, I am working on funded research in several areas:
- Intelligent Sensor Systems for Health Monitoring of Aircraft
Wiring
- InteGrail a framework VI project on fault diagnosis, prognostics and
maintenance for railway systems
- Acoustic Detection and Identification of Difficult Maritime Targets
- Advanced Time-Frequency (T-F) Analysis And Synthesis Of Novel
Biologically Inspired Signals
In particular, I have interests
in multiple modelling, knowledge structuring, fault diagnostics and
prognostics,
bio-inspired signal processing and novel time frequency analysis and
synthesis techniques.
Teaching Activity
I teach on the following courses:
- 4th year Analogue Electronics
- 4th year Sustainable Power Systems
- 3rd year Digital Group Project
