Research interests and experience:

·          AE based Vickers instrumented indentation testing of metals, ceramic coatings and composites

·          AE based adhesive bond strength measurement

·          AE monitoring during various thermal spraying processes (e.g. HVOF/Air Plasma Spray)

·          AE monitoring during other mechanical testing and corrosion

·          Neutron diffraction residual strain measurement (ISIS ENGIN-X, Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, UK) of thermally sprayed ceramic coatings and metals

·          Engineering forensic investigation of materials failure

·          Materials characterization and tribological studies of thick and thin film coatings
