Nadimul Haque Faisal is a PhD student in Micromechanics Research Group (Acoustic
Emission testing) at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Heriot-Watt

Interests & Experience
Since August 2004, he is working towards an interdisciplinary PhD thesis
titled ‘Acoustic Emission (AE) Analysis for Quality Assessment of Thermally
Sprayed Ceramic Coatings’.
Research interests and experience:

AE based Vickers instrumented indentation testing
of metals, ceramic coatings and composites

AE based adhesive bond strength measurement

AE monitoring during various thermal spraying
processes (e.g. HVOF/Air Plasma Spray)
