Join EPS

Dr. Xu Wang joined School of Engineering and Physical Sciences (EPS) of Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh, Scotland, UK as a Senior Lecturer in July, 2007.

He is in EECE Department. He is also a member of Joint Institute of Integrated System (with University of Edinburgh). His research in HWU will be in the field of Optical Communication and Photonic Networks.

Before join HWU, he has been an expert researcher in Photonic Network Group of National Institute of Communication and Information Technology (NICT), Tokyo, Japan (2004~2007); TAO research fellow in the Department of Electronic and Information Systems of Osaka University, Osaka, Japan(2002~2004); Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Electronic Engineering of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong (CUHK) (2001~2002); and a lecturer in the National Key Laboratory of Fiber Optic Broad-band Transmission and Communication Networks of University of Electronics Science& Technology of China (UESTC), Chengdu, China (1992~1997).

Dr. Xu Wang received Ph.D. degree in electronic engineering from CUHK, M. Eng. from UESTC and B. Sc. from Zhejiang University. He was awarded the Telecommunications Advancement Research Fellowship by the TAO of Japan in 2002 and 2003. He is a senior member of IEEE LEOS/ComSoc.
