Purchased hardware and software included a network
of 29 PCs, 2 Silicon Graphics workstations, a variety of plotters and printers,
a teaching robot and a colour scanner. A wide range of engineering computer
aided design and analysis software was also purchased, e.g. AutoCAD,
EUCLID, NASTRAN,
and is now used extensively for teaching in both current and new undergraduate
and post-graduate courses as well as in the provision of vocational courses
for industry. It is hoped that, by running the latter, the Romanian institution
can raise capital to maintain its EU-funded resources in the long term.
