Cambridge (剑桥大学)
The University of Cambridge is one of the oldest and best
universities in the world, also one of the largest in the United Kingdom. Its
reputation for outstanding academic achievement is known world-wide and
reflects the intellectual achievement of its students, as well as the
world-class original research carried out by the staff of the University and
the Colleges. The University pioneers work in the understanding of disease, the
creation of new materials, advances in telecommunications and research into the
origins of the universe.
University of Cambridge is located in northeast England on the Cam River. It is rich in history - its famous Colleges and University buildings attract visitors from all over the world (More history can be found from this website).
The University of Cambridge has more Nobel Prize winners
than any other institution. 80 affiliates of the University of Cambridge have
won the Nobel Prize since 1904, including 29 Nobel prizes in Physics, 22 in
Medicine, 18 in Chemistry, seven in Economics, two in Literature and two in

剑桥之美融合了乡间的宁静，古典建筑的精美，突显出它跨越时代的特质。这里充满了对比，新旧结合，景色四季多变化。狭窄幽静的小巷，有时豁然开朗通入广大的庭院。闹市与庄严的学府，比邻而居。小河两边，牛羊与古老的教堂，相映成趣。无论是一条曲径通幽的巷道，或是学院庭园的一隅都好，剑桥所散发出来的是一种适雅的风情。中国人的“万般皆下品，唯有读书高”的精髓在这里显得更为耀烨与净炼。莎士比亚曾说过：“人生即舞台，所有的人不过都是演员而已。”在剑桥的舞台上，个个演员都抖擞精神，一心一意想要演好自己的角色。
剑桥的历史可追溯到1209年。当时聚集了不少因宗教、社会或学术思想分歧而被逼迁而来的牛津年轻学者们。到了1284年时，剑桥最古老的彼得学院(Peterhouse)建立后，整个精英的学术建设更为集中，也为日后剑桥大学城的孕育铺下了深厚的奠基，并创造了与牛津分庭抗礼的骄人光环。这数百年来，两所大学城都在暗劲较量，宛若我们武侠世界中的少林与武当，各绽异彩，而两者都是众纷学子们梦寐以求，欲予叩敲的学术金殿。
